The Big Apple!

Marisa and I had so much fun in New York City, we were there for 4 full days and we saw everything we wanted to see. And it was awesome to spend that time with my sister!

Wednesday Night, August 8th: We got into New York 2 hours earlier than we had planned (we changed out flight because
of a delay), so we checked into our hotel and walked to Times Square (about 2 1/2 blocks from our hotel). Times Square is super crazy even at night! It is so bright that it almost looks like it's daytime. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, which was cool, at 10 o'clock at night -- I love being on vacation!

Thursday, August 9t
h: We first visited the Top of the Rock in 30 Rockefeller Center, where we got the best view of the city. Walked around Rockerfeller Center for a bit, then took the subway to Central Park. As I was trying to take a picture of the Trump Towers, we saw Adam Sandler. Marisa didn't believe me that it was him right away, but I heard him talk to some people on a park bench, and I right away knew it was him, he was crossing the street with his bulldog, so I couldn't snap a picture! Oh well! We then took a bike tour of Central Park, our guide was Andre, he was really cool and fun! It was really hot that day, and on our way back to Times Square we found an AMC theater so we decided to sit and see a move, we saw I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry -- I guess we were inspired by Adam Sandler!! :) About 3 p.m. we headed back to our hotel for a nap and to get ready to go to the Theatre and see "Wicked" which was so awesome, I can't even describe it!! A perfect ending to a good first day.

Friday, August 10th: Woke up to a rainy day....walked down the street to a small Euro Dinner for breakfast, then back to our hotel for awhile. About 1 p.m. we decided to take a Taxi to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and hope that it would stop raining. We spent about 2 hours there, very nice museum. Then we went to Madam Tussad's Wax Museum in Times Square. That was really fun, kinda creepy, but fun! That night we hopped onto the Double Decker Tour Buses and went on a Night Tour of the City, it was really cold, thank god I had bought a sweatshirt earlier in the day. We saw the city at night and crossed over the Manhattan bridge to Brooklyn and saw the skyline. It was awesome!

Saturday, August 11th: Walked down 5th Avenue towards Central Park, stopped in front of Tiffany's, went into a real
ly awesome Apple Computer store -- it was a big glass box, and you walked down a spiral glass staircase under ground where all the Apple Computers were displayed. I got to play with the new iphone, it was pretty awesome! Then of course we had to check out FAO Schwartz for awhile. Next was the Sex and the City Bus Tour!!! This was really fun. We hopped on a bus that had TV monitors that showed clips of Sex & the City, and we stopped at various places in the show and our guide pointed out certain hot spots. It was really fun -- who wouldn't have fun when you go shopping in a sex store at 11:30 in the morning and get to drink a cosmopolitan at 1 o'clock in the afternoon!! The rest of the day we did some shopping at M&M World, the Virgin Megastore, Souvenir shops, and the Hershey's store.

Sunday, August 12th: We got up pretty early to head to Battery Park to catch the Ferry to Liberty island to see the Statue of Liberty. Again it was a hot day, but we spent about an hour and a half on Liberty Island. Sunday night was spent at the Empire State Building, so we could see the city at night. It was so beautiful, and it looked like New York City could go on and on!

All in all it was an awesome trip!!! New York City is definately the city that never sleeps! I hope everyone enjoys our pictures!!

The trip sounded so awesome! It sounds like you guys had a wonderful time and I'm sure it was a few days that you both will always treasure. I know when Jason and I went on a three day trip to Dallas (and we didn't do near that much stuff) it was awesome to spend the time together.
Thanks for sharing the events and photos!!
